Nov. 16, 2016: Judith G. DiMenna (Horncastle) of Duxbury, Massachusetts, passed away on November 7, 2016, at the age of 72.
She is the beloved wife of Nicholas J. DiMenna and dear mother of Alison Grace Harbilas and her husband, Eric, of Barnstable; Christine J. Nelson and her husband, Michael, of Duxbury; and Matthew Redvers DiMenna of New York.
Judith also leaves behind her grandchildren, Eric Harbilas, Jr., and Michael, Henry, and Charlie Nelson. She is predeceased by her brother, the late Raymond Horncastle, but leaves a sister, Mary Jane Fitzpatrick, of Richmond, Virginia.
Judith grew up in Crestwood, where she attended The Assumption Grammar School. She later graduated from Ursuline High School in New Rochelle. She received a BA from Sarah Lawrence College.
Judith married Nicholas DiMenna in 1964 and resided in Bronxville, where they raised their family. She was a member of the Junior League of Bronxville. She also enjoyed her years as a member of the Bronxville Field Club.
Judith had a real estate license and was employed by Houlihan Lawrence Real Estate for many years. When she and her husband relocated to Duxbury in 2003, Judith changed vocations and worked at Talbots. Her joy was residing there in the same area as her grandchildren and watching them grow up.
Judith was known for her sense of humor and sparkle that made the lives of her family and friends heartwarming and fulfilling. Judith was a lifelong learner who possessed a deep love for books, but her true love was her husband and best friend, Nick.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 16, at 10:00 am at the Holy Family Church, 601 Tremont Street, Duxbury, MA.
