May 25, 2025: Chris Collins died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on May 13, 2025, at NYP Westchester Hospital in Bronxville, New York. He was 75 years young at the time of his death.
In addition to his heartbroken wife Kathleen, Chris will be deeply missed by his two sons: Max and his wife Sarah, Alex and his wife Julene; granddaughters Charlotte, Elisabeth, and Quinn; his brothers and sister; mother-in law Carol Hendrick and all who knew him.
Born September 14, 1949, in Southampton, New York, Chris spent his early childhood in West Hempstead and Garden City, where he grew up with his parents Alice and Robert Collins, brothers Dr. Robert Collins (Kathy), Dr. Glenn Collins (Helga) and sister Caroline Fiore.
Chris had a distinguished forty-year career as an award-winning commercial advertising photographer and owner of an impressive NYC studio. His photography has been published and featured in magazines, books, and exhibits; he was recognized internationally for his creativity and artistic talents.
He will be remembered by many for his kindness, generosity, entertaining and fun sense of humor, appreciation of fashion and style, love of his Labradors, unsolicited advice, and thought-provoking conversations.
Chris leaves behind a family and many friends who adored him; countless were fortunate to be caught by Chris’s lens as he always had a camera on hand to document life as it unfolded around him.
Immediate services will be private. A service of remembrance for family and friends to celebrate Chris’s life will be held on Sunday, September 14, 2025, at The Bronxville Field Club.
