Former Bronxville Resident Cornelia Baddeley Dies January 2, 2017

Feb. 1, 2017:  Cornelia Baddeley (née Manierre), 87, of Germantown, TN, formerly of Charlottesville, VA, and Bronxville, died on Monday, January, 2, 2017, in Tennessee after a long illness. Cornelia was predeceased by her husband of 52 years, William “Bill” Grosvenor Baddeley.

Before retiring to Charlottesville in 1986, Bill and Cornelia raised their three children, William (Carolyn) Baddeley of Oakland, TN, Robert (Judith) Baddeley of Yorktown Heights, NY, and Anne (Michael) Shef of Melville, NY. In addition, Cornelia is survived by six loving grandchildren: Carson and Nathaniel Baddeley; Paige and Andrew Baddeley; and Michael and Stephanie Shef.

Cornelia was very active in the Charlottesville community. She was passionate about helping others through various projects at her church, Church of Our Savior, reading to the blind, and delivering Meals on Wheels with Bill for 25 years.

A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 7, with interment in the church cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. George’s Episcopal Church, 2425 S. Germantown Road, Germantown, TN 38138.
