Concordia Conservatory to Present Art of the Miniatures on March 6

By Kathleen Suss

Feb. 26, 2026: Concordia Conservatory continues its Concordia Classics at the Keyboard Series with Art of the Miniatures with Slavina Zhelezova, piano on Friday, March 6 at 1:00 pm in Stein Hall followed by a festive reception.

Under the Concordia Classics’ artistic direction of Ji Na Kim, this 40-minute concert showcases the artistry of Conservatory piano faculty Slavina Zhelezova in an intimate and expressive program exploring the power of musical miniatures.

The program opens with works by Frédéric Chopin, master of poetic piano miniatures, and continues with compelling selections by Kareem Roustom Jarrar, Mary Kouyoumdjian, and Margaret Bonds.

Together, these composers reimagine the miniature through distinct musical voices, exploring memory, identity, color, and emotion in works that are brief in length yet profound in impact.

For the Conservatory community, this performance offers a unique opportunity to experience a faculty artist on stage—deepening musical understanding while celebrating the artistry and excellence that inform their teaching.

Tickets are $27 for adults and $13.50 for children and seniors. Seating is limited. For tickets, visit concordiaconservatory.org or call 914-395-4507.

Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
