June 14, 2023: Ellen Krause, 92, passed away peacefully of old age at Calvary Hospital on May 18, 2023.  She is survived by her two sons, Paul and Robert Krause, seven grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and her sister, Marilyn Connors.

Ellen graduated from the College of New Rochelle with a B.A. degree in Education and German, and attended the Middlebury School of Languages in Vermont for German immersion studies.  Later she took a position as a business representative for the NY Telephone Co.  She married Robert Krause in 1955, a well-known and accomplished florist in Bronxville, who eventually bought Mrs. Morgan’s Flower Shop which became their lifelong endeavor.  Ellen and her husband also took great interest in antique glassware and gave lectures in the metropolitan area on this topic.  She was also a member and twice President & District Director of the Soroptimist organization for 30 years, a global volunteer organization that provides women and girls with access to education and training to achieve economic empowerment.

After Ellen’s husband passed away in 2005, she lived a blessed and fully independent life for the next 18 years.  She will be greatly missed by her surviving family and friends.  We rejoice that she is with our Lord and Savior and eternal family.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, June 19, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, 8 Carman Rd., Scarsdale, NY 10583, followed by a Celebration of Life luncheon for family and close friends at the Bronxville Field Club, 40 Locust Lane, Bronxville, NY 10708.
