Virginia Dorr Maxwell Passed Away on March 31st, 2023

May 17, 2023: Virginia “Ginny” Dorr Maxwell, loving nurturer and friend passed away peacefully on March 31st, 2023, in Sleepy Hollow, NY. She was 85 years old.
Ginny was best known for the unconditional love and support that she shared with everyone whom she encountered. She had an uncanny way of reaching out and connecting with family and friends regularly, always interested in knowing the details of their lives, challenges, and celebrations.
Ginny was an accomplished artist whose primary medium was watercolor. Her muse was mostly landscapes of the many places she had visited worldwide.
Virginia Carden Dorr was born in New York City to artist and teacher, Ruth Miller Dorr and attorney and diplomat, Russell Higginson Dorr. She also lived in Bronxville for almost 50 years and raised her four children in Bronxville.
Ginny is survived by her husband, Charles T. Maxwell, her four children, three stepsons, ten grandchildren and her brother. She was predeceased by her first husband, Peter C. Wiese.
A Service of Witness to the Resurrection and Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, May 19th, 2023, at 11:00 am at the Reformed Church of Bronxville, 180 Pondfield Rd, Bronxville, NY 10708.
