Jan. 10, 2018:  George M. Yeager passed away peacefully in New York City on New Year's Eve. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 44 years, Barbara, and is survived by his children and their spouses, Scott and Helen Yeager and Kerry and Jed Stevens, and by his seven grandchildren.

George was born in Pelham, New York, to Harold and Marybelle Yeager. He graduated from Pelham High School and Dartmouth College, where he also earned an MBA and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

After spending one year at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, George joined Franklin Cole & Company, an asset management firm that would eventually become Yeager, Wood, and Marshall, and where he would spend the balance of his 45-year career as an investment counselor and portfolio manager.

He was featured in multiple publications and news programs and was known for his long-term perspective and intellect.

George also started a mutual fund, US Global Leaders, and authored a book on investing.

George was passionate about travel, food, wine, art, opera, and family and he was happily able to combine all of those loves on many special occasions. He was particularly fond of his home in Antigua, which became his full-time residence in later years when he was not finding a new part of the world to explore.

George was a generous philanthropist and he supported causes related to liberty, projects close to his homes in Bronxville and in Antigua, and projects that provided equal opportunity for those prepared to help themselves.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Mill Reef Fund, 487 Goodwyn Street, Memphis, TN 38111.
