Music, Literature, and Conversation on Concordia's Campus in October Commencing Friday, October 5

Oct. 3, 2018: Concordia College has events scheduled throughout the month of October; all are open to the public, and most are free of charge.
Friday, October 5, 7:30 am, Business Breakfast with BofA's NYC Market President Anne Walker. The October 5 installment of Business Breakfast brings Anne Walker, Bank of America's market president for New York City, to campus. Her talk, "Embracing the Zigzag Path," will explore the many ways to find career satisfaction. It will be held from 7:30 to 9:00 am in the Pietruski Auditorium on the second floor of the Scheele Memorial Library.
Monday, October 15, 7:30 pm, Books & Coffee Discussion with Author Kate Moore. Kate Moore, bestselling author of The Radium Girls, will be headlining the October 15 Books & Coffee discussion at 7:30 pm at the Sommer Center for Worship and the Performing Arts. Moore has been on a media blitz talking about her engrossing historical narrative, and Concordia is delighted to welcome her to campus.
Thursday, October 25, 7:00 pm, President John Nunes Interviews Author Rev. Philip Krey. As the 70th anniversary of Human Rights Day approaches, Concordia president Dr. John Nunes will interview author Rev. Philip Krey, PhD, on justice and human rights in an OSilas Gallery talk at 7:00 pm on October 25.
Saturday, October 27, 7:00 pm, Hoch Chamber Music Series Concert with Lawrence Dutton. On October 27 at 7:00 pm, the Hoch Chamber Music Series opens its season with "A Night of Borders and Boundaries," featuring world-renowned violist Lawrence Dutton, guest artists, and Concordia Conservatory faculty. The concert will take place at the Sommer Center for Worship and the Performing Arts. Tickets are available at concordiaconservatory.org.
Tuesday, October 30, 7:30 pm, Met Museum's Dr. Helen Evans Discusses Met's Armenia! Exhibition. There will be an OSilas Gallery talk at 7:30 pm on October 30, when The Met Museum’s Dr. Helen C. Evans will discuss Armenia’s ancient and significant cultural heritage with images from The Met’s exhibition Armenia!, which she curated. Tickets are required. The Bronxville Adult School is a not-for-profit organization incorporated in 1957 and chartered by the New York State Board of Regents. The School "offers all adults of Bronxville and surrounding communities the opportunity for personal growth through life enhancing skills and provides cultural, intellectual and recreational stimulation at a nominal cost."

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
