Feb. 26, 2025: The Bronxville Public Library’s 2025 programming has started strong this year with a diverse slate appealing to a broad spectrum of the community.
On January 11, the library hosted The New Blue, Yale’s first all-women’s a cappella group. The performance, featuring songs like Ain’t No Sunshine and Valerie, drew a large multi-generational audience. Bronxville resident and member of local a cappella ensemble Scaling Up, Lauren Gautier attended with others from her group and commented, “We were all pretty dazzled by the smooth and intricate harmonies. At one point, the group invited everyone to ‘give feedback’ on parts they liked by snapping or waving their hands. Enthusiastic snaps and waves rippled through the audience from then on. It was a really fun, engaging performance.”
For younger patrons, the library offers a wide variety of programs such as Sculpt and Paint, held twice a month for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. Focusing on a timely theme or holiday, the February class was aptly called “Presidential Edition.” With presidential sculptures as inspiration, children molded clay into the shape of what they thought a president looked like or, for those with budding aspirations, what they themselves would look like if they were president.
The exciting events continue this spring with activities for all age groups, including an Irish dance demonstration on Thursday, February 27, and Saturday, March 18. You might just be inspired to get up and dance!
The library’s programming is supported by the Friends of the Bronxville Public Library, which is hosting its “A Night at the Races” fundraiser on Friday, April 25. Tickets go on sale Friday, February 28 on the Friends’ website.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
