Oct. 24, 2018:  Whether you want to make something delectable to share at a holiday meal, something festive to add to your holiday decor, or something special to wear or give as a gift, Bronxville Adult School has fun and informative classes to help you get a jump on holiday preparations.

Enhance your Thanksgiving decor. Basketmaking expert Robin Ingram will teach you how to create a cornucopia that you can take home and fill with gourds, fruits, and other bounty of the season. The class will be held on November 1 and November 8 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at The Bronxville School.

If you would like to indulge your inner florist, pros from Tryforos and Pernice will teach you to work with seasonal flowers and unique accents in a class titled Festive Flowers for Your Holiday Table. The class will be held on November 15 from 7:00 to 8:30 pm at The Bronxville School.

Bring something new to the dessert table this holiday season. French pastry chef Madeline Delosh will hold two separate classes sure to help you create stunning holiday confections.

She will be giving a class titled Learn to Make Holiday Tartlettes in which she will teach how to make holiday tartlettes in a variety of seasonal flavors, including pumpkin and cranberry. The class will be held on November 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at The Bronxville School.

In December, Madeline will teach you how to make a bûche de Noël. Also called a yule log, this impressive French holiday treat is created from sponge cake, rich buttercream, and chocolate ganache. The class will be held on December 18 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at The Bronxville School.

If you would like to create something festive to wear or give during the holidays, learn how to make wearable art with jeweler Nicole Zahour, who will run two separate workshops on creating enameled jewelry. Enamel Sifting, Stencils, and Sticks will be held at The Bronxville School on November 28 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Watercolor Enamels will be held on December 12 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at The Bronxville School.

Our November class sold out quickly, so by popular demand another Red Wines from Around the World tasting will be held at Ernie's Wine Bar + Eats in January. Please check the Bronxville Adult School website for details.

Bronxville Public Library

Bronxville Public Library

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.

The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.

The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children.  All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
