Thursday, November 1, 2018, 2:00 pm, Author Domenica Ruta on Craft of Nonfiction. This craft talk with Domenica Ruta will look at the supposed rules and advice for writing and will dispel the mythology of the precious artist of the singular path.
Monday, November 5, 2018, 7:15 pm, Presidential Panel on Inclusive Excellence and Campus Climate. Part of Sarah Lawrence’s yearlong Difference in Dialogue event series, this moderated panel discussion will feature college and university presidents exploring campus climate and the most pressing issues facing campuses today.
Tuesday, November 6, 2018, 12:30 pm, Lecture by Marjorie Senechal (Science Seminar Series). Marjorie Senechal, a professor emerita of mathematics and history of science and technology at Smith College, will be giving a lecture. The event will take place at the Science Center, Room 103, 1 Mead Way.
Tuesday, November 6, 2018, 2:00 pm, Author Julia Slavin. Julia Slavin, author of The Woman Who Cut Off Her Leg at the Maidstone Club and Other Stories and The Carnivore Diet, is holding a craft talk on eco fabulism, magic realism, and the strange.
Wednesday, November 7, 2018, 2:00 pm, Author Wyatt Mason. Wyatt Mason is holding a craft talk on description, exploring questions such as how you choose details of the lived world to include in your writing.
Tuesday, November 13, 2018, 2:00 pm, Author Catherine Lacey. Catherine Lacey, author of Nobody Is Ever Missing, The Answers, and Certain American States, is holding a craft talk on metaphor.
Tuesday, November 13, 2018, 5:00 pm, Opening Reception for Artist Jenny Perlin. There will be an opening reception for artist Jenny Perlin at the Barbara Walters Gallery in the Heimbold Visual Arts Center Donnelley Film Theatre, 917 Kimball Avenue.
Wednesday, November 14, 2018, 2:00 pm, Author Kate Knapp Johnson. Kate Knapp Johnson, author of When Orchids Were Flowers, This Perfect Life, and Wind Somewhere and Shade, is presenting a craft talk on the prose poem.

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
