July 3, 2025: The following are selected entries from the June 2025 Bronxville police blotter:
June 4, 2025, 9:11: Pondfield Road, Agg Unlicensed Operation, Arrest-Custodial: A Bronxville detective reports a traffic stop at Pondfield Road West and Stoneleigh Plaza. The license of the operator of the vehicle was revoked for a total of 13 scoffs. County Towing was notified for the impound. The driver was taken to headquarters for arrest processing and issued tickets with a return date.
June 4, 2025, 12:43: Pondfield Road, Lost Backpack: A parent calls to report that her daughter lost her backpack while at school. The backpack was described. The caller wanted a documentation because she was concerned due to there being an identification card with her daughter's name and address in the backpack. Further advised that when her daughter informed her of the missing backpack she met with school security, and they searched multiple areas with negative results. I advised that she will be notified if the backpack is turned into police headquarters.
June 8, 2025, 17:32: Cedar Street, Suspicious Incident: 2021 Grey BMW 530i in front of Cedar Street and upon return at 1700 hours she noticed identical scratches on the vehicle. A 6-inch vertical scratch on the bottom on the driver's side rear passenger door and a 2-inch scratch to the top of the vehicle's hood in the shape of the letter "F." Completed a supporting deposition and was given blotter report number. An officer canvassed for exterior video surveillance in front of Cedar Street with negative results. Reports and photos forwarded to detective division for further investigation.
June 12, 2025, 14:19, Ridge Road, Suspicious Incident: Received a call from a woman stating that she thinks she might have seen a car get stolen on the hilltop. Detailed two police officers who reported that the woman observed a male using a tool to open a door on an older sedan parked in front of Plateau Circle West. Officers spoke with homeowners at Plateau Circle West who state that their vehicles are accounted for and that they do not know of any vehicles matching the description belonging to anyone in the area.
June 15, 2025, 14:40, Kensington Road, Lost and Found: Caller reports an unattended backpack, described as black with red striping, on a bench by Kensington Road & Sagamore Road. Detailed officer reports backpack has no identifiers and appears discarded due to having no monetary value. Backpack placed in trash receptacle.
June 17, 2025, 16:59, Pondfield Road, Past Larceny: Call received from Manager to report approximately 1 hour ago a male entered the store and removed multiple tubes of toothpaste. Manager is requesting a report for loss prevention and stated she would like to pursue charges if an individual can be identified. Police officer is dispatched and reports that at 16:03 hours, a male (described a white male wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, dark pants and carrying a black backpack) walked down aisle #4, placed 47 tubes of toothpaste totaling $580 into his backpack and walked past all points of sale without paying for the items. The Officer obtained the owner's and supporting deposition. Review of village video shows male suspect arriving in village at 15:57 hours from Pondfield Road underpass. North and Southbound trains arrive minutes before. Male walks east on the north side of Pondfield Road, crosses at Park Place on Pondfield Road and continues. He is observed wearing a black hooded sweatshirt with gray jeans and carrying a black backpack when entering. When leaving the establishment at 16:05 hours, male walks west on the south side of Pondfield to Park Place where he removes his sweatshirt and has a short sleeve black t-shirt on with writing on the back. Male crosses Kraft Avenue to the Pedestrian train tunnel.
June 21, 2025, 12:54, Kensington Road, Suspended Registration, Arrest Non-Custodial: Officer reports he is on a vehicle traffic stop on Kensington Road. He requested inquiry for New York. An e-justice inquiry revealed a suspended 2005 Red Toyota Camry as of 1/10/35, violation of toll collections by a public authority. Registered owner/operator held a valid Class D New York license. The detailed Officer and County Tow respond. The Officer issues the operator the following summonses to appear before the Village of Bronxville Justice Court: Suspended Registration. County Tow impounded the vehicle and all related paperwork completed by the officer.

A homeowner reported a suspicious vehicle parked in front of their residence. Officers responded and discovered that the vehicle was reported stolen from the City of Mt Vernon. The vehicle was impounded and the owner was notified.

A female store employee reported that she was uncomfortable with an interaction with a customer and believed that he may become dangerous in the future. A report was filed.

Bronxville is a quaint village (one square mile) located just 16 miles north of midtown Manhattan (roughly 30 minutes on the train) and has a population of approximately 6,500. It is known as a premier community with an excellent public school (K-12) and easy access to Manhattan. Bronxville offers many amenities including an attractive business district, a hospital (Lawrence Hospital), public paddle and tennis courts, fine dining at local restaurants, two private country clubs and a community library.
While the earliest settlers of Bronxville date back to the first half of the 18th century, the history of the modern suburb of Bronxville began in 1890 when William Van Duzer Lawrence purchased a farm and commissioned the architect, William A. Bates, to design a planned community of houses for well-known artists and professionals that became a thriving art colony. This community, now called Lawrence Park, is listed on the National register of Historic Places and many of the homes still have artists’ studios. A neighborhood association within Lawrence Park called “The Hilltop Association” keeps this heritage alive with art shows and other events for neighbors.
Bronxville offers many charming neighborhoods as well as a variety of living options for residents including single family homes, town houses, cooperatives and condominiums. One of the chief benefits of living in “the village” is that your children can attend the Bronxville School.
The Bronxville postal zone (10708, known as “Bronxville PO”) includes the village of Bronxville as well as the Chester Heights section of Eastchester, parts of Tuckahoe and the Lawrence Park West, Cedar Knolls, Armour Villa and Longvale sections of Yonkers. Many of these areas have their own distinct character. For instance, the Armour Villa section has many historic homes and even has its own newsletter called “The Villa Voice” which reports on neighborhood news.
