Jan. 17, 2024: Frank Joseph Hardart III, of South Salem and Brooklyn, New York, passed away suddenly and unexpectedly after a brief illness at his family’s weekend home in Vermont on January 8, 2024.
Frank was born on June 18, 1962 in New York City, the eldest child to Frank Joseph Hardart Jr. and Frances O’Connor Hardart. He was a graduate of Bronxville High School, The University of Notre Dame, and Northwestern’s Kellogg Graduate School of Management.
Informed by his Catholic faith, Frank had an unlimited capacity to help people. For Frank, that meant repairing homes for Christmas in April (Rebuilding Together) in Jersey City, supporting educational opportunities in Haiti, sponsoring students through Student Sponsor Partners, and serving on the board of the Mccaddin-Mcquirk Foundation for seminary formation.
Following a career as an executive in the media industry at NBC and Viacom, Frank cofounded Educate LLC. His goal at Educate was to work with schools to improve teaching and learning so that classrooms could be more engaging and exciting places for students and teachers. Over his 24 years at Educate, Frank's work positively impacted hundreds of schools and school leaders, and thousands of teachers and students.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father, son and brother. Frank shared a joyful life with his beloved wife, Meeni (Naqvi) Hardart, and their two cherished children, Josephine and Timothy. He is also survived by his sister Marie Therese (“Tracie”); four brothers George (Katie), Richard (Karen), Christopher (Courtney), and Michael (Kendall); mother-in-law Brita; two sisters-in-law Fatima Naqvi-Peters (Chris Peters) and Elia Gurna (Eric Gurna); and 15 adored nieces and nephews. Frank is pre-deceased by his parents.
