May 10, 2017: Frances Marino Faselt of Bronxville peacefully passed away on Sunday, May 7, 2017, surrounded by her family. She was 85 years old. Fran was born in Brooklyn on May 15, 1931. She was preceded in death by her parents, Dominick and Filomena Marino, her husband, Robert Wiley Faselt, her brother, John Marino, and their son, Gregory Robert Faselt.
She is survived by four children, Wiley Faselt of Verona, NJ, Gary Faselt (Carolyn) of Denver, CO, Kerry Hopwood (Larry) of Mount Vernon, NY, and Tim Faselt (Michelle) of Bronxville. In addition to her children, she is survived by nine grandchildren, Suzi, Maggie, Jamie, Zoe, Lauren, Tarra, Greg, Robbie, and Jackie, and one great-grandchild, Jackson.
Fran graduated from Prospect Heights High School in 1948 and then met her husband of 19 years while working at Indian Head Textiles in New York City. They were married on September 6, 1954. Fran and Bob moved to Bronxville in 1961, where they raised their five children, who attended both St. Joseph School and The Bronxville School.
After raising their children, Fran served as an executive assistant at various companies for many years. She was a devout Catholic and a longtime parishioner of St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville for over 50 years. Fran loved her family and friends dearly. She was an excellent cook, enjoyed good music, loved cheering on her beloved NY Giants, and particularly enjoyed family vacations at the beach on Fire Island.
Calling hours are from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Thursday, May 11, at McGrath & Son Funeral Home in Bronxville.
Funeral Mass is at 9:45 am on Friday, May 12, at St. Joseph's Church in Bronxville.
