Friday, June 9, 10:00 am: In Conversation: New York Times White House Correspondent Maggie Haberman ’96 and President Judd Discuss Democracy and Education is a special event to wrap up our yearlong series of inaugural events exploring the theme Democracy and Education. It will be followed by an audience Q&A.   

Wednesday, June 13, 1:00 pm: Midsummer Music: Mozart String Trio and Brahms Piano Quartet in C minor will feature music faculty member Sungrai Sohn, violin, and Bari Mort, piano, with guest artists. The Marshall Field Carriage House, Sarah Lawrence College, 20 Glen Washington Road. 

Saturday, June 16, 10:00 am: Mayapple & Sarah Lawrence Summer Workshop – The Art of Protest: Art and Scholarship as Political Resistance will begin with a panel discussion with artists Dar Williams, Mahogany L. Browne, Felix Endara, and David Birkin and scholars Nicolaus Mills and Michelle Slater on their personal practice of art activism and the possibilities and problems of art activism as political resistance. Admission is $25, and lunch is included.  

Sunday, June 17, 7:30 pm: Summer Literary Series Reading: Adelle Waldman & Matthea Harvey will feature Adelle Waldman, author of The Love Affairs of Nathaniel P. and Matthea Harvey,  author of If the Tabloids Are True What Are You? and Of Lamb sharing and discussing their works.   

Monday, June 18, 7:30 pm: Summer Literary Seminar Reading: Sam Lipsyte & Jeffrey McDaniel will include Sam Lipsyte, author of The Fun Parts, and Jeffrey McDaniel, author of Chapel of Inadvertent Joy and The Endarkenment sharing and discussing their works.  

Tuesday, June 19, 7:30 pm: Summer Literary Seminar Reading: Sally Wen Mao & Hua Hsu will include Hua Has, author of A Floating Chinaman: Fantasy and Failure Across the Pacific, and Sally Wen Mao, author of Mad Honey Symposium, sharing and discussing their works.  

Wednesday, June 20, 1:00 pm: Midsummer Music: Ulysses String Quartet, Beethoven String Quartet in E minor, Op. 59, No. 2, will feature the Ulysses String Quartet performing Beethoven's String Quartet in E minor, Op. 59, No. 2. The Marshall Field Carriage House, Sarah Lawrence College, 20 Glen Washington Road. 

Wednesday, June 20. 7:30 pm: Summer Literary Seminar Reading: Jess Walter & Natalie Diaz will feature Jess Walter, author of Beautiful Ruins, and Natalie Diaz, author of When my Brother was an Aztec, sharing and discussing their works.   

Thursday, June 21, 7:30 pm: Summer Literary Seminar Screening: Hello, I Must Be Going by Sarah Koskoff, will be a screening of an award-winning film with screenwriter Sarah Koskoff, winner of Showtime’s Tony Cox Award in screenwriting. Sarah Koskoff will also discuss the film, which was the opening night film of Sundance 2012.   

Friday, June 22, 5:00 pm: Summer Literary Seminar Reading:  Téa Obreht & Danez Smith will include Téa Obreht, author of The Tiger’s Wife, and Danez Smith, author of Don’t Call Us Dead, sharing and discussing their works.   

Saturday, June 23, 8:00 am:  The Writing Institute’s 5th Annual Publish & Promote Your Book Conference is a one-day conference that brings together writers, agents, editors, marketing, and public relations professionals designed to help you get your book published. Wednesday, June 27, 1:00 pm: Midsummer Music: Organ Music by Bach will feature music faculty member Martin Goldray, organ. The Marshall Field Carriage House, Sarah Lawrence College, 20 Glen Washington Road. 

Monday, July 9, 4:30 pm: 2018 Thomas H. Wright Lecture: Small Actions for Big Justice—Albert Sykes shares a powerful personal story, one that is rooted in the struggles and search for quality education through community organizing and youth advocacy.
