A Fun Local Story For Downton Abbey Fans

A couple of week ago, one of MyhometownBronxville's photographers was enjoying a night out at the movies seeing Downton Abbey when she saw the three women pictured above dressed in period attire. They, too, are big fans of Downton Abbey and had just seen the movie. She asked to take their picture and learned that one of the women is Lourdes Guerrero, wife of Angelo Di Rosa, the owner of Scalini Osteria in Bronxville.
After the three friends attended the movie, they dined at Scalini, at a table set with dishes, glasses, flowers, candles, and place cards that reflected the Downton Abbey era.
They had a delicious meal that concluded with a panna cotta dessert, a jello-like dessert right out of the Downtown Abbey era. Throughout the meal, they also played Downton Abbey trivia.

It was such a fun and creative way to be immersed in Downton Abbey!

The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
