The Counseling Center Hosts A Sold Out Evening Gala: See Photos!

By Rosie Amodio, The Counseling Center Board member

March 19, 2025: “Oh, what a night!” was a common theme heard throughout The Counseling Center’s annual Gala, hosted at the Siwanoy Club on March 14th. From start to finish, the event was a huge success. Not only did the Center honor Bronxville mother/school volunteer and champion of neurodiversity, Lia Gravier, but an exciting and exclusive live auction helped contribute to hitting the Center’s goal of raising enough funding to subsidize therapy for an entire year for clients in need. One example of the offerings and generosity seen?  Urban Arts CEO/chef Philip Courtney of Bronxville, who auctioned not one, but two dinners for eight due to high demand.

This year’s full and energized event brought together a wonderful cross-section of Bronxville, where guests learned more about the Center’s seasoned clinical therapists that are ready to help, and about the subsidized mental health care provided throughout Westchester by this organization. Guests from partner schools Sarah Lawrence College and Iona University also joined the festivities:  Both schools are actively sending students to work with The Center.

“The energy in the room was palpable,” says Virgil Roberson, Executive Director. “The choice of honoree, updates to the event, and wonderful mix of guests not only put the spotlight on the Center’s work but also set the stage for an exciting year ahead.”

Special thanks to the team at Siwanoy Country Club, led by Theresa McCarthy, who played host to this wonderful evening and lively after party. The board is already brainstorming ways to keep the momentum going.
