Community Fund Awards Two Grants to Support Mental Health Services

Feb. 28, 2024: The Community Fund of Bronxville, Eastchester, and Tuckahoe (BET), a local non-profit organization dedicated to providing critical health and wellness services to local community members, is proud to announce the approval of two new grants against its newly formed Mental Health Discretionary Fund.
In 2022, The Community Fund partnered with Pace University to develop a community needs assessment. The data from this needs assessment showed that mental health services are the most significant need across all three communities. The Community Fund developed a discretionary fund dedicated to mental health services to meet this need.
The Community Fund has awarded its first two discretionary grants to Aisling Center in Yonkers and Iona University in Bronxville, NY. The Aisling grant will provide funds to cover operational costs associated with the center's robust walk-in counseling services, which are free to community members. They service over 1000 people annually, equating to 1100 hours of counseling support. Counseling is available 5 days a week.
The funding for Iona University will cover phase 1 of a comprehensive series of workshops and trainings to support local community members with tangible tools and services across a variety of mental health issues, including stress management, as well as mental, emotional, and relational well-being and health for local residents.

In response to the dramatic need, we are continuously working hard to find effective solutions to ensure when someone knocks on our door for help, we are in a position to do so".

Boulder Ledge Garden Club
Founded in 1966, the Boulder Ledge Garden Club is rooted in a mission to inspire a deeper appreciation and love for gardening and flower arranging. The club is dedicated to fostering and promoting interest and knowledge in gardening.
The Club maintains Bronxville’s Bicentennial Park and other civic gardens. In 2019–2020 the club raised $18,000 to replace trees in the village, reflecting its active role in community beautification. It also holds garden therapy projects and educational garden trips for members.

Bronxville Giving Garden
The Bronxville Giving Garden is a community-centered garden that donates organic produce to Eastchester Community Action Partnership in Tuckahoe and Community Service Associates in Mount Vernon. The garden is also a gathering place where school children and volunteers can discover the joy of tending plants and growing food.

Bronxville Green Committee
The Bronxville Green Committee is a volunteer organization that is part of the Village of Bronxville. It proposes and implements environmentally sustainable programs in our community.

Bronxville Boy Scouts
The village of Bronxville has a long tradition of scouting. “The troops and packs of Bronxville have maintained the finest scouting organizations and have taught the boys of the Bronxville area to be leaders and outstanding members of the local, national and global communities.”
