Bronxville School PTA to Unveil Covid Year Time Capsule Project by Livestream on October 2, 2021: Community Invited

By Rosie Amodio, Bronxville School PTA Communications Chair

Sept. 29, 2021: Finding Silver Linings in the face of adversity is truly a challenge and a skill. This past Spring, the Bronxville PTA asked the school community to reflect on our “Covid Year,” remember the difficult times, and explore the power of facing adversity that emerged from our local response to the global pandemic. The purpose of this reflection? To memorialize the strength and resilience of our community in a “Time Capsule” themed window display and photobook. That historic and emotive archive has been completed.

This Saturday, October 2nd, from 12-12:30, the PTA will livestream a dedication of the Time Capsule Window display and photobook on the Bronxville School District YouTube Channel.

In addition, the PTA has gifted 10 benches to the Bronxville school which will offer community members an opportunity to sit and visit together, something that was not safe for so long due to the pandemic.

“We are so excited to share this display and the benches with our community,” says PTA President Jennifer Heathwood.  “Reviewing the submissions made it clear how wonderful a place Bronxville is, full of strong, creative and resilient adults and children.” It is with so much gratitude that we dedicate this display to our administrators, teachers, staff, and BOE members who helped make our 20-21 school year a success.

Following the livestream event, the Time Capsule Window, photobook and benches will be on display in the new high school atrium from 12:30-7pm.  We invite community members to come view the materials and add their personal pandemic Silver Linings to a public installation created with post-it notes surrounding the Time Capsule Window.  Please enter the school on Meadow Avenue.  Masks are required for entry.
