Thursday, March 1, 4:00 pm, Film Screening, Red Umbrella Rights. The film Red Umbrella Rights will be screened followed by a Q&A with director Molly Merryman. This film uses the annual International Day to End Violence event to explore issues of sex workers’ rights, LGBTQ rights, and the targeting of sex workers in violent attacks. The screening will take place at the Heimbold Visual Arts Center’s Donnelley Film Theatre at 917 Kimball Avenue.
Friday, March 2, 6:00 pm, Film Screening, Anton Chekhov’s The Seagull. The acclaimed Satirikon Theatre’s production of Anton Chekov’s The Seagull will be shown in Russian with English subtitles. The screening will take place at the Titsworth Marjorie Leff Miller ’53 Lecture Hall at 1 Mead Way.
Monday, March 5, noon, Memory and Psychology Lecture by Dr. André Fenton. Dr. André Fenton from New York University will give a lecture on his cutting-edge research regarding memory. The lecture will take place at the Titsworth Marjorie Left Miller Hall '53 Lecture Hall at 1 Mead Way.
Monday, March 5, 5:30 pm, Artist Lecture by Photographer Glen McClure. Glen McClure will present a lecture that will be followed by a reception. The event will take place at the Esther Raushenbush Library at 1 Mead Way.
Tuesday, March 6, 5:15 pm, Visual Arts Lecture by Artist and Writer Martha Rosler. Martha Rosler, multimedia artist and writer, will be lecturing on her work’s relevant political ideas and how these ideas manifest in her writing, teaching, and advocacy. The event will take place at the Heimbold Visual Arts Center’s Donnelley Film Theatre at 917 Kimball Avenue.
Tuesday, March 6, 12:30 pm, Science Seminar Series. “Using Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging (fMRI): An Introduction to Student-Accessible fMRI Techniques and Methodologies.” This lecture will be given by Jessica Cloud. This event will take place in the Science Center’s Room 103 at 1 Mead Way.
Tuesday, March 6, 3:30 pm, Lecture by Translator Katrina Dodson on Translating Clarice Lispector. “Channeling Clarice Lispector: Translation as a Faithful Performance.” Katrina Dodson has translated from the Portuguese The Complete Stories by Clarice Lispector. She will be speaking about her experiences with translation and Lispector’s body of work. The event will take place at the Esther Raushenbush Library at 1 Mead Way.
Wednesday, March 7, 7:00 pm, Lecture by Jeffrey Deskovic on Prosecutorial Misconduct. Jeffrey Deskovic, founder and president of The Jeffrey Deskovic Foundation for Justice, was wrongly convicted of a crime and later exonerated for it. In his lecture, he will speak about prosecutorial misconduct. The event will take place at the Esther Raushenbush Library at 1 Mead Way.
Thursday, March 8, 5:00 pm, Film Screening, Starving the Beast with Steve Mims. The film Starving the Beast with Steve Mims will be a screened as part of Sarah Lawrence College’s Art of Teaching Film Series. The screening will take place at the Heimbold Visual Arts Center’s Donnelley Film Theatre at 917 Kimball Avenue.
Thursday, March 8, 5:00 pm, Film Screening, Alive Inside: A Story of Music and Memory. The film Alive Inside: A Story of Music and Memory examines the effect of music on therapy for patients with memory disorders. After the screening, there will be a Q&A with Connie Tomaino, co-founder of the Institute for Music and Neurologic Function. The event will take place at the Esther Raushenbush Library at 1 Mead Way.

The School "offers all adults of Bronxville and surrounding communities the opportunity for personal growth through life enhancing skills and provides cultural, intellectual and recreational stimulation at a nominal cost."

Bronxville Public Library
The Bronxville Public Library traces its origins back to 1875, when it was a small lending library housed in a room attached to the “Bronxville Model School.” The Library was officially chartered in 1906 and moved into the Village Hall Building. The needs of the library grew with the town and, in 1942, a new standalone building was erected, which is where the Library is today. Over the years, the Library was renovated and expanded to meet the needs of the community.
The Library has wonderful resources for adults and children and offers a comfortable and relaxing environment. The Library also houses a fine art collection, consisting principally of Bronxville painters and sculptors.
The Library offers special events, art exhibitions, and programs for adults, young adults and children. All events are open to the public, unless otherwise indicated.
